Scripture uses an abundance of clothing metaphors or illustrations to make a point: having been baptized into Christ, we are now “dressed in our Sunday best,” wearing the power and grace of Jesus like a runway boss–wow! One might also say that clothes are an outward expression of the inward person. From creative to flashy to somber to bespoke, personal style sends a message. What does it mean to you to be “clothed” with the power of Christ? Clothed in his righteousness? What message does “being dressed like Jesus” say about getting rid of our outdated or worn clothes?
